Sr. Bookkeeper

JOB DESCRIPTION

Sr Bookkeeper maintains and records a complete and systematic set of business transactions by processing all daily, weekly, monthly and periodic accounting data to provide accurate and timely financial reports as required. This person will also handle some administrative services to support certain corporate functions. Will report directly to the Controller.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Accounts Payable

-Vendor invoices, coding and obtaining approval

-Weekly check runs, monthly credit card payments

-Vendor maintenance including W-9

• Accounts Receivable

-Monthly and on-demand billing
-Online receipts and check deposits
-Weekly receivable reports and collections
-Account reconciliation with customers’ Purchase Orders

• Bank and credit card Accounts reconciliations
• Maintain job numbers in accounting and time reporting systems
• Journal entries including accruals and deferrals, revenue reconciliation
• Monthly commission calculation
• Weekly summary report
• Ad Hoc projects
• Administrative support
• May need to process payroll and labor distribution in the future

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or comparable professional certificate with full GAAP compliance. Extensive past experience may be considered in lieu of academic credentials. At least 2 to 3 years of relevant Senior Bookkeeping experience required.
• Experience with Sage 50 (Peachtree) is a big plus.
• Proficiency in Excel (V-look ups, pivot tables), Word and Acrobat.
• Strong interpersonal, coordination, written and verbal skills to interact with vendors, customers and internal staff.
• Ability to take ownership and initiative, and work independently.
• Ability to Multi-task and react quickly to shifting priorities.
